Yao-Yi Chiang joined the Department of Computer Science & Engineering in 2021 as an associate professor. He received his M.S. (2004) and Ph.D. (2010) degrees in computer science from the University of Southern California. Chiang also currently serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Information Science and Engineering and as an Editorial Board Member for Transactions in Geographic Information Systems. Prior to joining the University, he served as a senior software engineer for Fetch Technologies and Geosemble Technologies, a visiting researcher for Google AI, and as a machine learning consultant for Facebook.
