Tatsunori Hashimoto is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University and a Faculty Affiliate of the Institute for Human‑Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI). His research focuses on statistical machine learning and natural language processing, developing methods that improve the robustness, reliability, and understanding of machine learning systems—especially large language models and foundation models. He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) under the supervision of Tommi Jaakkola and David Gifford and has received recognition including research awards from industry and best paper awards at major conferences. At Stanford, he teaches courses on language modeling, deep learning, and machine learning under distributional shifts.
