About

Tamar Shinar is Associate Professor of Computer Science and co-director of the Riverside Graphics Lab. Shinar's research focuses on simulation and modeling for computer graphics and biology. She received her Ph.D. in Scientific Computing and Computational Mathematics from Stanford University in 2008, where she developed algorithms for physically-based simulation in computer graphics. Prior to joining the CSE faculty, she was a postdoctoral scholar at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at NYU, where she developed computational models of cell biomechanical systems.
