Serdar Bozdag is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of North Texas and the Director of the Center for Computational Life Sciences, with a joint appointment in Mathematics. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Riverside in 2008, where his dissertation was titled “Combinatorial Approaches to the Physical Mapping Problem.” He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Marmara University, earned in 2002. His academic and research work include teaching advanced topics in computational life science and bioinformatics, and he directs research integrating machine learning and deep learning solutions for biomedical data analysis. Bozdag’s professional activities include serving on editorial boards and organizing conferences in computational biology and bioinformatics.
