Dr. Rohit J. Kate is an Associate Professor of Computer Science in the College of Engineering & Applied Science at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. His research focuses on machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and biomedical informatics, where he applies predictive analytics and automated text analysis techniques to medical and clinical data. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin and also holds an M.S. in Computer Science from UT Austin and a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. At UWM, he teaches and mentors students in areas related to AI, data analytics, and computational methods, and has published extensively on topics such as clinical term normalization and health informatics.
