Rada Mihalcea
About
Rada Mihalcea is the Janice M. Jenkins Collegiate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering in the University of Michigan’s EECS department, and she directs the Michigan Artificial Intelligence Lab. Her research focuses on natural language processing, multimodal processing, and computational social sciences, spanning lexical semantics, multilingual NLP, and algorithms that help computers understand human language and behavior. She co-developed widely used techniques in text analysis and has authored hundreds of papers; her honors include being named an ACM Fellow and receiving the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers. She is also known for outreach efforts to broaden participation in computing and leads the Language and Information Technologies (LIT) Lab at Michigan
