About

Olivier is a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science (Games Computing) at the University of Lincoln. His role involves the organisation and management of the delivery of university modules about games development, programming, coding algorithms and paradigms, software design and games design to undergraduate and postgraduate computing and games computing students. Olivier’s research background and publications focuses on Games Development, Games Mechanics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Crowd Behaviour, Ludology and Computer Vision (CV). Olivier has worked as a post-doctoral Research Assistant in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Computer Vision (CV). This position’s responsibilities involved the development of video-games in facilitating and assessing wheel skills training to provide therapeutic feedback on movement accuracy previously only available through occupational therapists. Olivier has previously worked as a Research Fellow in Location-Based Services for Mobile Devices to work on an industry-led project to provide a tailored indoor-location navigation and routing solution. He has also worked as a part-time Software Developer at Iventis Ltd, where he was part of a team working on an online information management system for large-scale events where he modelled and analysed large data-sets of complex geospatial information into valuable assets. Olivier is also working during his spare time as a volunteer on a number of projects within the games development industry. His research extends to Agent-Based Modelling (ABM) to improve the believability of large-scale virtual world environments. His work has contributed to publications in the advances in digital games research, playful experiences, multi-agent applications, the study of artificial intelligence, computational collective intelligence research, the simulation of pedestrian dynamics and indoor navigation and routeing systems. Olivier is volunteering as a community moderator with a games development company to provide gamers with a safe, welcoming, fun online service.
