Mustafa Bilgic
About
Dr. Mustafa Bilgic is a Professor of Computer Science and Chair of the Department of Computer Science at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. He also serves as Director of the Machine Learning Laboratory and leads the Master’s in Artificial Intelligence program. Dr. Bilgic earned his Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland at College Park and his B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin. His research focuses on machine learning, including active learning, interactive and interpretable machine learning, active inference, probabilistic graphical models, and explainable AI. He has received funding from agencies such as the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health, and his work has been recognized with awards including an NSF CAREER grant and teaching excellence honors
