Dr. Muhammad Osama Shahid is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Wayne State University. Before joining WSU, he earned his Ph.D. in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research lies in the areas of wireless systems and networks, edge computing, distributed systems, and cyber-physical systems. His work has resulted in publications at top-tier venues like SIGCOMM, NSDI, CoNEXT, Sensys and Nature Communications Engineering. During his PhD, he has collaborated with Microsoft Research on multiple projects. He has industry experience through research internships at Samsung Research America and Qualcomm. He is also a recipient of 2020 ECE Wisconsin Distinguished Graduate Fellowship-Schneider (WDGF).
