Mirsad Hadzikadic, Ph.D., is a Professor of Software and Information Systems at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and the Founding Director of the Complex Systems Institute. He joined the UNC Charlotte faculty in 1987 after earning his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Southern Methodist University as a Fulbright Scholar. Dr. Hadzikadic was the Founding Dean of the College of Computing and Informatics and has served in leadership roles including Executive Director of the Data Science Initiative. His research spans complex adaptive systems, data mining and analytics, machine learning, cognitive science, and health informatics, and he has published numerous books and scientific papers in these areas
