About

Md Tamjid Hossain is a privacy and security expert currently serving as an Assistant Professor (Tenure-track) of Computer Science and Cybersecurity and the director of CiPH3R-Lab (https://ciph3rlab.github.io/) at Texas A&M University-San Antonio (A&M-SA). His research interests include secure and trustworthy cybersecurity and AI/ML applications, adversarial machine learning, federated learning, reinforcement learning, blockchain, and critical infrastructure security. He has authored/co-authored 10+ research papers published in top conferences and journals, including IEEE TAI, IEEE CASE 2025, IEEE/RSJ IROS 2023, ICMLC 2023, ISGT NA 2023, CNS 2021, MSN 2021, CPSCom 2021, and IEMTRONICS 2021. Dr. Hossain has also served as a TPC member and reviewer for 15+ major conferences and journals, such as ICRA 2024, ICRA 2023, IEEE IoT, TII, TDSC, and Sensors. Currently, he is leading and collaborating with faculties/researchers from Purdue University Northwest (PNW), University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), and Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) in several research projects and actively applying for potential funding from programs such as NSF SaTC 2.0 (~$600K/4yrs, Texas A&M System’s REF (~$250K), Amazon Research Awards ~80K/1yr), Foresight Institute’s Secure AI grant (~$10K to $300K/1yr).. In addition to his research accomplishments, Dr. Hossain has mentored 900+ undergraduate and graduate students at UNR and Texas A&M-SA from 2020 to 2025. He is also serving as a faculty mentor to an undergraduate student from Texas State University under NSF’s CAHSI Spring 2026 LREU program. He has experience in serving as a Faculty Search Committee member and Program Curriculum Designer at the Department of CEMS at A&M-SA. His leadership skills, organizational abilities, and collaborative approach to technical problem-solving have been recognized with prestigious awards, including the 2023 GSA Travel Grant and the 2016 Grameenphone Best Employee Award.
