About

Dr. Matt Patitz received his B.S. and M.S. in Computer from Iowa State University, then worked at a start-up software company, SupportSoft, in Redwood City, CA as a software engineer and team lead from 2000-2005. In 2005 he returned to Iowa State University to pursue his PhD in Computer Science, which he completed in 2010. From 2010 to 2012 he was an assistant professor of Computer Science at the University of Texas-Pan American. Since 2012, Matt has been in the Department of Computer Science and Computer Engineering at the University of Arkansas. He is currently an associate professor. His research interests are DNA computing, algorithmic self-assembly, and theoretical computer science in general. He has received research grants from the National Science Foundation, including a CAREER award in 2016, and published over 60 peer-reviewed conference and journal papers
