Jianhua (Jason) Xuan, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech, affiliated with the Deep Learning Research Laboratory. He holds two Ph.D. degrees — one from University of Maryland Baltimore County (1997) and another from Zhejiang University (1991) — along with M.S. and B.S. degrees from Zhejiang University. Dr. Xuan’s research centers on deep learning, machine learning, computer vision, digital image and signal processing, medical imaging and analysis, artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, and computational systems biology, with applications in biomedical data and imaging.
