Dr. Gang Zhou is a Class of 2027 Professor in Computer Science, William & Mary. He is a Fellow of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), a Fellow of AAIA (Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association), and a Fellow of AIIA (The International Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance). He is the Editor-in-Chief of ACM Transactions on Computing for Healthcare (HEALTH), and a co-Area-Editor of IEEE Internet of Things Journal (IoT-J). He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Virginia in 2007. His research interests include AI for healthcare, wearable computing, sensor systems, Internet of things, ubiquitous & mobile computing, and networking. He served as an Associate Editor of ACM Transactions on Sensor Networks (TOSN), Proceedings of the ACM on Interactive, Mobile, Wearable and Ubiquitous Technologies (IMWUT), ACM Transactions on Computing for Healthcare (HEALTH), IEEE Internet of Things Journal (IoT-J), Elsevier Smart Health, Elsevier Computer Networks, and Springer Journal of Computer Science and Technology. He serves as a Steering Committee member (2018-present), General Chair (2019), and TPC Chair (2018 and 2023) of CHASE – ACM/IEEE’s premier conference on Connected Health: Applications, Systems and Engineering Technologies. He received CAREER Award from the Computer and Information Science and Engineering Directory of the National Science Foundation (NSF) in 2013. He received the Best Paper Award of ACM/IEEE Conference on Connected Health: Applications, Systems and Engineering Technologies (CHASE) in 2024. He received the Best Paper Award of ACM HEALTH in 2023. He received the Best Paper Award of IEEE Internet Computing in 2020. He received the Best Paper Award of IEEE International Conference on Network Protocols (ICNP) in 2010. He received Plumeri Award for Faculty Excellence at William & Mary in 2015. He received ACM Recognition of Service Award from ACM SIG Governing Board in 2020. He also received an award for his outstanding service to the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society in 2008. As an entrepreneur, he co-founded Motion Medix and holds multiple US patents. He serves on the Advisory Board of Mai Anh Do & David Nguyen Foundation.
