Feng Chen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas and Director of the AI Safety Laboratory. His research focuses on AI safety and trustworthy machine learning, including resilient AI systems that handle uncertainty, fairness, and ethical concerns across applications such as healthcare, autonomous systems, cybersecurity, and fairness-aware AI. He joined UTDallas as an associate professor with tenure in 2019, previously held a faculty position at SUNY Albany, and was a postdoctoral researcher at Carnegie Mellon University. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech.
