He earned his Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of California, Davis in 1998 and has a broad range of research and teaching interests including data wrangling, data visualization, statistical and machine learning, natural language processing, deep learning and AI, Bayesian statistics, time series analysis, and statistical computing. Dr. Suess is experienced with tools and languages such as R, Python, Keras, TensorFlow, h2o, Linux, and cloud computing, and he is actively involved in undergraduate advising and curriculum development.
