About
Dimitris Papamichail, Ph.D. is a Professor of Computer Science in the School of Science at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stony Brook University, an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Arizona, and a B.E. in Computer Engineering and Informatics from the University of Patras in Greece. Dr. Papamichail’s research focuses on applied algorithms and computational biology, including algorithmic solutions for problems drawn from the life sciences, synthetic biology, efficient bioinformatics tools, metaheuristic optimization, and applications such as transcription of handwritten manuscripts. He regularly teaches courses ranging from introductory programming and discrete structures to algorithm design and computational biology, and he is active in mentoring undergraduate research
