David E. Breen
About
David E. Breen, PhD is a professor of computer science in the College of Computing & Informatics (CCI) at Drexel University. He has held research positions at INRIA (Grenoble), Technical University of Dresden, the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems, California Institute of Technology, the European Computer-Industry Research Centre, the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics and the Rensselaer Design Research Center. Breen's research interests include textile modeling and design, biomedical image informatics, geometric modeling, and bio-inspired self-organization algorithms. He previously served as deputy director of the NSF Center for Visual & Decision Informatics. Currently, he is affiliated with Drexel's Metadata Research Center and Center for Biological Discovery from Big Data. Breen has authored or co-authored over 125 technical papers, articles and book chapters, and is the co-editor of the book Cloth Modeling and Animation. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award and a Fulbright Scholarship.
