Dr. Dale R. Thompson received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Mississippi State University, Starkville, MS, USA in 1990 and 1992, respectively. He received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, USA in 2000. Before coming to the University of Arkansas in 2000, he worked as an Electronics Engineer in the communications group at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center in Vicksburg, MS, USA from 1992 to 2000. He has been in the Department of Computer Science and Computer Engineering (CSCE) at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA, since 2000. He served as the Associate Department Head for the Undergraduate Program from May 2018 through June 2020 and also Interim Department Head July through December 2020. He is serving as the Associate Department Head for the Undergraduate Program and is the ABET Coordinator of the department.
