Dr. Cameron H. G. Wright is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Wyoming, where he also serves as the founding director of the Wyoming Information, Signal Processing, and Robotics (WISPR) Laboratory. His distinguished career spans over 40 years, beginning with 30 years of military service in the U.S. Navy and Air Force, eventually retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel before transitioning to academia in 2003. Dr. Wright is an expert in digital signal processing, image processing, and bioinstrumentation, with a research focus on biologically-inspired vision sensors, real-time embedded systems, and assistive medical technologies. Notably, he served as the Dean of the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences from 2019 until 2025, during which he was a central figure in the university's Tier-1 Engineering Initiative. A licensed Professional Engineer and life senior member of the IEEE, he has received numerous accolades for his teaching and service, including the NCEES Distinguished Examination Service Award and multiple "Professor of the Year" honors.
