About

Alan Michaels is a professor in the Bradley Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering and director of the Spectrum Dominance Division, where he leads research and workforce development in digital communications, SIGINT, RF machine learning, electronic warfare, quantum algorithms, and automotive cybersecurity applications. He is also an affiliate professor in the Department of Mathematics. Previously he served 10 years with the Harris Corporation as a senior engineering manager, an advanced program lead for R&D technology, and a systems engineer. Michaels earned a B.S., M.S., and a Ph.D in electrical and computer engineering, a B.S. and M.S. in applied mathematics, andan M.S. in operations research from the Georgia Institute of Technology, as well as an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University and a MA in Theological Studies from Liberty University. Through his career, he has led >180research projects worth >$186M, earned 45 U.S. patents, and written more than 100 peer reviewed publications. In 2021,Alan was elected as a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors.
