Abdeltawab Hendawi is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Rhode Island, where he leads research at the intersection of Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, and Spatial Computing. His work focuses on building scalable systems capable of processing and analyzing massive, high-velocity data streams, with a particular emphasis on "Smart Cities" and intelligent transportation systems. He is highly regarded for his development of advanced spatio-temporal algorithms, such as iRoad, which improve the efficiency of GPS-based navigation and traffic prediction.
